Window Rock Trail is a very easy kid friendly hike in Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction that offers incredible scenery. The monument says this hike is a "level loop trail through pinyon-juniper woodland to overlook with excellent views of Monument and Wedding Canyons and most of their major rock formations, including Independence Monument." There is camping available at the Saddlehorn Campground which is located near the Visitor Center, about four miles from the west entrance.
