Van Trump Park Trail is a moderate hike in Mount Rainier National Park that leads hikers through stunning mountain scenery. A popular turn around point is at Comet Falls. For those that choose this option the roundtrip distance is 3.8 miles. The park says for those "who continue to Van Trump Park enjoy views Mount Adams and Mount St. Helens to the distant south, while the Kautz and Van Trump Glaciers dominate views of Mount Rainier to the north. Look for marmots, pikas, and mountain goats on rocky open slopes in the area." Mount Rainier has plenty of camping available. Cougar Rock Campground is located in the southwest section of the park, Ohanapecosh Campground is in the southeast, White River is in the northeast section and Mowich Lake is a small tent only campground in the northwest section of Mount Rainier.
