Buckhorn Trail is a tough hike in Theodore Roosevelt National Park that is a great choice for those wanting solitude and wildlife viewing opportunities. The park says this trails leads hikers "through prairie dog towns, sagebrush terraces, deep canyons, and high open prairies. Experience the diversity of plant and animal life in these distinct habitats." This hike is in the park's northern unit. There is camping available in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Cottonwood Campground is in the TRNP south unit and the Juniper Campground is located in the north unit.
