The Maze is a remote unit of Canyonlands National Park that is generally visited as part of a backpacking trip. Hiking in the maze can be dangerous, is not recommended for folks new to canyon hiking. Please check with rangers before going exploring in the Maze and remember to leave a detailed schedule with a family member or friend. Also, do not rely on finding water, make sure to carry more than you anticipate needing and as always bring protection from the sun. Canyonlands National Park has two campgrounds, Squaw Flat Campground in The Needles District and Willow Flat Campground in the Island in the Sky District.
