Swamp Canyon Trail in Bryce Canyon is a moderate hike in southern Utah that features amazing scenery. Swamp Canyon is a gem that most visitors to Bryce Canyon overlook or simply don't know about. If solitude is what you seek, this may be your best bet. This loop hike descends fast, but returns much more gradually. Expect thick evergreen forest and sweeping vista of hoodoos and fins. Bryce Canyon National Park has two campgrounds, Sunset and North Campgrounds.

History

Mormon Pioneers settled Bryce Canyon in the early 1850’s. The park is named after Ebenezer Bryce who homesteaded in the area in the 1870's.
