Summerland Trail is a difficult day hike or backpacking trip in Mount Rainier National Park that features tremendous scenery and wildlife. Backcountry camping is available at the Summerland Camp site. The park says "the variety of subalpine wildflowers, panoramic views of Mount Rainier and Little Tahoma, and frequent sightings of mountain goats and other wildlife make this hike extremely popular." Mount Rainier has plenty of camping available. Cougar Rock Campground is located in the southwest section of the park, Ohanapecosh Campground is in the southeast, White River is in the northeast section and Mowich Lake is a small tent only campground in the northwest section of Mount Rainier.
