Stripe Rock Trail in City of Rocks National Reserve leads hiker by a truly unique rock formation in the reserve. Stripe Rock is easily recognizable by the lightening bolt shaped aplite dike that divides the east face. The trail provides ample opportunity for rock climbing so don't leave your climbing shoes at camp! This trail is kid and dog friendly. There is camping available in City of Rocks. Don't forget about City of Rocks in the wintertime. The reserve is a great choice for winter outdoor recreation such as cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
