Story in Stone Trail is a very easy kid friendly day hike in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument that provides wonderful badlands views for hikers. This trail is dog friendly, but your furry friends must be kept on leash. The monument says "erosion exposed several colorful badland outcrops that are visible along the path and in the distance. This trail is wide, level, and mostly paved." There is camping available in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
