South Fork Gold Fork Trail is a moderate hike in the Boise National Forest in Idaho. The forest service recommends carrying Gold Fork Rock and Sloan's Point topography maps, a compass, and the skill to use them on this rugged and seldom hiked trail. This route offers hikers lush, high meadow scenery but lacks water sources, so make sure to carry plenty of extra H2O. This trail is dog friendly, also equestrians and mountain biking is allowed on most trails in the Boise National Forest, simply check with rangers or your map prior. This trail is located in the Cascade Ranger District of the Boise National Forest. There is camping available throughout the Boise N.F.
