Shadow Lake Trail is short hike that great for those traveling with kids. While short in distance, this trail more than makes up for it with big scenery. NPS says "this trail offers views of the White River Valley, Mount Rainier and access to Shadow Lake. Return to Sunrise via the steeper trail to Frozen Lake and Sourdough Ridge or follow the old roadway back to Sunrise" Mount Rainier has plenty of camping available. Cougar Rock Campground is located in the southwest section of the park, Ohanapecosh Campground is in the southeast, White River is in the northeast section and Mowich Lake is a small tent only campground in the northwest section of Mount Rainier.
