Sauk Point Trail is a difficult hiking trail in Devil's Lake State Park near Madison Wisconsin. This trail is apart of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and leads hikers through a lush forest and along a grassy ridge. This hike traverses the highest point in the Baraboo Hills. This trail is dog friendly, so long as Fido is on leash. Many of the parks trails can be combined to form longer hikes. There is camping available in Devil's Lake State Park and the park is also a great choice for winter outdoor recreation such as snowshoeing.

History

Devil's Lake State park was founded in 1911 and is Wisconsin's most visited and third oldest state park.
