Sargent Mount via Giant Slide Trail is a moderate hiking trail in Acadia National Park features incredible scenery. Along the way hikers can expect wonderful views of the park, ravines and sweeping vistas along open ledges as the trail weaves in and out of thick evergreen forest. The Giant Slide Trailhead is located on Route 3/198 north of the Northeast Harbor. Nearly 340 different bird species have been recorded in Acadia National Park, including twenty-three different species of warblers that breed in the park. The incredible diversity makes Acadia one of the premier bird-watching destinations in the country. Hikers that watch and listen along the trail will likely spot quite a few. Acadia has five campgrounds.
