Sandhills Trail is an easy hike in Suwannee River State Park near Tallahassee, Florida. This hike is kid friendly and dog friendly, however your furry kids must be on leash. When hiking Suwannee River State Park, make sure to bring your camera and a pair of binoculars. The park is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail and offers ample opportunities for bird watchers. There is camping available in Suwannee River State Park.
This trail takes hikers by the cemetery of the ghost town of Columbus. In 1818 Andrew Jackson lead American forces through this area searching for Indian strongholds, believed responsible for raiding settlers.
