Salt Creek Canyon is a tough backpacking trip in Canyonlands National Park that is great for hikers looking for solitude. This trip makes for a long overnight backcountry trip and is probably best broken up into two or three days. Along the way hikers will see areas of the park seen by a small fraction of visitors and have wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. Water is available seasonally along this hike, but make sure to check with rangers before relying on any water source. This hike is located in the park's Needles District. Canyonlands National Park has two campgrounds, Squaw Flat Campground in The Needles District and Willow Flat Campground in the Island in the Sky District.
