The Rio Grande Village Nature Trail is a very easy hiking trail in Big Bend National Park, Texas. This hike is kid friendly. This hike begins at the Rio Grande Village Campground near site 18. The park says "although short and easy, the trail is very scenic and has fantastic opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially birds. The first 100 yards is wheelchair accessible and crosses a boardwalk through a spring-fed wetland. Then the trail gradually climbs a limestone hill with panoramic vistas of the Rio Grande, and the Chisos and Del Carmen Mountains. This trail is great for sunsets." As with all trails in Big Bend, make sure to carry plenty of water and sunscreen when hiking. There are three developed front country campgrounds in Big Bend National Park, the Chisos Basin Campground, Cottonwood Campground and the Rio Grande Village Campground.
