Pioneer Trail is a moderate family friendly hike in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area that gives hikers a look at the area’s past. This hike is located in the middle section of the park. Along the way hikers will pass an old farmstead, remnants of fields and stone fences as it winds towards the river. Further up hikers will pass an old lime-kiln before hitting the Hamilton Ridge Trail. This hike can be turned into a pleasant loop by taking heading back along the Hamilton Ridge Trail. This trail is dog friendly, but your pup must be on leash. There are campgrounds nearby.
