Petrified Forest Loop is a tough hike in Theodore Roosevelt National Park that is a great choice for hikers looking to explore part of the park's backcountry. The park says this hike is "located in the remote northwest corner of the South Unit, this hike takes you through ancient petrified forests and badlands wilderness. The loop includes the North and South Petrified Forest Trails as well as the Maah Daah Hey." This hike is in the park's southern unit. There is camping available in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Cottonwood Campground is in the TRNP south unit and the Juniper Campground is located in the north unit.
