The North Fork Circle Creek Trail take hikers deep into the "city." Along the way expect thick aspen groves and amazing rock formations. The trail passes by the Lost Horizons Arch of the Shangri La which is the largest natural arch in the reserve. For those who desire a longer hike, you can connect with the Indian Grove Trail, which adds another two miles. Don't forget your climbing shoes! This trail is kid and dog friendly. There is camping available in City of Rocks. Don't forget about City of Rocks in the wintertime. The reserve is a great choice for winter outdoor recreation such as cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
