Natchez State Park Logging Roads Trail is an easy hike near Natchez, Mississippi. This trail is great for those hiking with small children and is dog friendly. Your furry kids have to be on leash. Equestrians are also permitted on this trail. The park website says "the park also has approximately 2.5 miles of logging roads in the hunting area where horseback riding is allowed." There is camping available in Natchez State Park.

History

Natchez State Park is located just 10 miles north historic Natchez, the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. Prior to the Civil War, over half of the millionaires in the entire United States lived in Natchez, constructing elegant mansions unrivaled in size and elegance by any in the nation. Most of these splendid homes were spared during the Civil War, and many are now open for tours.
