Mount Rose trails is a great hike just outside of Reno Nevada. Mount Rose is the 3rd highest peak in the Tahoe Area. The hike is a steady climb that is saturated with wildflowers and rewards with amazing views from the summit. Make sure to pack a windbreaker, as it can get extremely windy. Also, keep in an eye on the weather because thunderstorms roll in in quickly. this trail is kid friendly but may be a bit much for young kids. Mountain bikers are permitted on this trail. Otherwise enjoy yourself and happy hiking! There is camping available in Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
