The Moro Rock Trail is a short hike that every visitor to Sequoia National Park should do. The trail is only a half-mile (round trip) long but climbs up some 400 carved stairs to the top of the massive granite dome. Once hikers have made the climb they are rewarded with spectacular views of the Great Western Divide and the western half of the park. Don't be a lightning rod! People have died by not using good judgment on Moro Rock, if there is any chance of thunderstorms save this hike for another day. This trail is great for kids. There is camping available in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
