Merced Grove is an easy kid friendly day hike in Yosemite National Park that leads to an incredible grove of Giant Sequoias. This trail is ideal for hikers who want to beat the crowds of other more popular sequoia hikes in Yosemite. While you will likely see people on the trail, you can expect to see far fewer than at other more popular sites such as the Mariposa Grove. Along the way hikers will pass many massive trees, including several in a straight line that have come to be known as the “elephants feet.” This hike also offers wonderful photography opportunities just about anytime of the day and is a great choice for hikers traveling with small children. There is camping available in Yosemite National Park.
