Lower Red Lake Canyon is a tough backpacking trip in Canyonlands National Park that features stunning scenery and wonderful wilderness experience. This trip is a great choice for hikers who want to explore remote areas of the park and leave civilization completely behind. Along the way, keep any peeled for wildlife and ample birds or prey. There is not water available along this trail until you reach the Colorado, plan accordingly. Also, make sure to carry detailed topo maps and protection from the sun. This hike is located in the park's Needles District. Canyonlands National Park has two campgrounds, Squaw Flat Campground in The Needles District and Willow Flat Campground in the Island in the Sky District.
