The Lower Canyon Trail is a difficult hiking trail in Caprock Canyons State Park near Amarillo, Texas. This hike is kid friendly and dog friendly, but your furry kids have to be on leash. Equestrians are also permitted on this trail. This trail takes hikers and horseback riders along beautiful portions of the Little Red River. In 2011, descendants of the great southern plains bison herd were released to roam the grasslands in the park. There is camping available in Caprock Canyon State Park.
