Lower Cache River Trail is an easy hiking trail in Cache River State Recreation Area Illinois that features wonderful bird watching opportunities. This trail leads hikers along the Cypress Creek and the Cache River and takes them pass an incredibly beautiful cypress-tupelo swamp. Make sure to watch for bird and listen for the rhythmic croaking of tree frogs. This family friendly hike is also dog friendly, but your furry friends must be kept on leash.
