Limantour Spit Trail is an easy hike in Point Reyes National Seashore near the San Francisco Bay area. The trailhead is located at the Limantour Beach Parking Lot, which is about a 20 minute drive from Bear Valley. Watch for Harbor Seals along the way. Also, nearly 490 different species have been spotted in and along the national seashore. For perspective, that’s more than 50 percent of species of birds in North America. So, don't forget to bring your binoculars. There is only backcountry camping available in Point Reyes, but there are plenty of other car friendly campground in the surrounding area.
