Letchworth: Finger Lakes Trail Section is a strenuous hike in Letchworth State Park in New York. Letchworth State Park is often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the East." The Genesee River thunders through the gorge with three major waterfalls, upper, middle and lower falls plummet down between cliffs that can be as high as 600 feet. Hikers can trek along 66 miles of trails. Some of the trails also permit horseback riding, mountain biking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, just check with rangers when your arrive. This hike is dog friendly, but your furry friends must be kept on a leash. There is camping available in Letchworth State Park.
