Kenai Nature Trail is an easy hike in the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Area near Missoula Montana. This hiking trail is kid friendly, but dogs are prohibited. This off the beaten path hike that will please birdwatchers and families alike. The first part of the trail is wheelchair accessible. Along the way hikers can expect to see migrating waterbirds such as ducks, geese, swans, cranes and more. While scanning for wildlife make sure to stop and take in the breathtaking views of the Bitterroot Mountains. There is camping available nearby.
History
Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, was established on February 4, 1964.
