Notes

Bear Trail is an easy hike in Hickory Run State Park near Scranton, Pennsylvania. This trail is kid friendly and dog friendly, but your furry kids must be on leash. Can be access via the Stone Trail. The park says "this wide, grassy trail branches off of Fourth Run Trail and ends at the northern park boundary (white blazes). It is possible to walk the park boundary to get to Leonardsville or Stage trials, but this can be difficult due to thick vegetation and should only be attempted by experienced hikers." There is a campground in Hickory Run State Park.

History

Most of the park trails were created by the Civilian Conservation Corps under the guidance of the National Park Service between 1936 and 1945.
