The Haskell Run Trail is a very easy family friendly hiking trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Cleveland. This hike starts at the Happy Days Lodge. Along the way hiker will pass the Mater Dolorosa cemetery, a small Irish Catholic cemetery established in 1869, then it meanders down a wooded ravine to Haskell Run. Along the way keep an eye peeled for wildlife, frogs, salamanders, and songbirds. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is very pet friendly, which is not the case for many national parks. Dogs are permitted on trails in Cuyahoga Valley, but they must be kept on leash. The Audubon Society considers Cuyahoga Valley National Park an IBA or Important Bird Area. The park offers incredible bird watching opportunities and is home to more than 200 different bird species. For those looking to stay a while, there is camping available inside and around the park.
