Grove of the Patriarchs Trail in Mount Rainier National Park is the perfect hike for those traveling with small children or the elderly. It is short yet still offers tremendous scenery and plentiful wildlife. the park says "the Ohanapecosh River surrounds an island of towering, thousand-year-old Douglas fir and western red cedar trees. Walk the trail to discover the grandeur and peace of this island." Mount Rainier has plenty of camping available. Cougar Rock Campground is located in the southwest section of the park, Ohanapecosh Campground is in the southeast, White River is in the northeast section and Mowich Lake is a small tent only campground in the northwest section of Mount Rainier.
