Grouse Mountain Overlook Trail in Mueller State Park near Colorado Springs is an easy hike leading to amazing scenery. This trail is kid friendly, but make sure to leave your furry kids at home! Dogs are not allowed on any Mueller State Park trails. Make sure to stop in at the Visitor Center before heading off on your hike. Mueller State Park says this hike starts "close to the campground, this trail offers a quiet hike through a timbered forest. Take Cheesman Ranch Trail #17 to Grouse Mountain Overlook#16. The trail leads to the top of Grouse Mountain, the highest point in the park (9,843 feet). Enjoy a spectacular view of Pikes Peak to the east and the Sangre de Cristo Range to the southwest. Keep in mind that this trail will be closed every year from June 1st through June 20th for Elk calving season." There is camping available in Mueller State Park.
