Great Head Trail is an easy family friendly hiking trail in Acadia National Park that will delight with incredible scenery. The trail meanders through an evergreen forest along the sea cliff. The trailhead is located on the eastern edge of Sand Beach. Nearly 340 different bird species have been recorded in Acadia National Park, including twenty-three different species of warblers that breed in the park. The incredible diversity makes Acadia one of the premier bird-watching destinations in the country. Hikers that watch and listen along the trail will likely spot quite a few. Acadia has five campgrounds.
