Glacier Point via Four Mile Trail is a tough day hike in Yosemite National Park that features truly incredible scenery. This point to point trail is an epic and classic hike in Yosemite National Park. The Four Mile Trail between Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point climbs 3,200 feet. Along the steep switchbacks hikers are greeted with calendar quality photo opportunities again and again. Expect tremendous views of the Merced River weaving through Yosemite Valley, Upper Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, Half Dome, Vernal Falls and more. If you go when Yosemite Falls are still raging you expect a breathtaking view that will make you understand why John Muir and others fought so hard to protect this truly amazing place. Make sure to take the very short spur trail to Union Point on your way up or down, the view of Tenaya Canyon, North Dome, Half Dome and Cloud's Rest is well worth it. For those who don't want to make the climb, you can take a shuttle bus from the valley to Glacier Point and hike down. There is camping available in Yosemite National Park.
