Fendley Station and Bright Hope Loop weaves through most of Pocahontas State Park. It’s 18 miles long, so an overnight backpacking trip may be the best option. It’s probably too long for young kids, but you are welcome to bring the dog (on leash). Equestrians are permitted on the Bright Hope Portion, but the Fendley Station portion is closed to horses. Mountain biking is permitted throughout. Along the way hikers can expect a diverse array of wildflower and other flora. You'll likely see plenty of white-tailed deer and if you are lucky perhaps a bald eagle or two. The Bright Hope portion has yellow blazes and the Findley Station portion has burgundy blazes. There is camping available in Pocahontas State Park.
