The Upland Trail is an easy hiking trail in Devil's Lake State Park near Madison Wisconsin. This trail is apart of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and loops around meadows near Steinke Basin. Along the way hikers can expect incredible views of the Wisconsin River. This trail is also a great choice for mountain bikers. This hike is dog friendly, so long as your furry friend is on leash. Many of the parks trails can be combined to form longer hikes. There is camping available in Devil's Lake State Park and the park is also a great choice for winter outdoor recreation such as snowshoeing.

History

Devil's Lake State park was founded in 1911 and is Wisconsin's most visited and third oldest state park.
