Balanced Rock Trail is a very easy hiking trail in Devil's Lake State Park near Madison Wisconsin. This trail is apart of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. This hike can be steep in places. Balanced rock is 3/4 of the way up the trail about 100 feet off the trail. Along the way hikers can expect many scenic views. This trail is dog friendly, so long as your furry friend is on leash. Many of the parks trails can be combined to form longer hikes. There is camping available in Devil's Lake State Park and the park is also a great choice for winter outdoor recreation such as snowshoeing.


Devil's Lake State park was founded in 1911 and is Wisconsin's most visited and third oldest state park.
