Coast Laguna Loop is a moderate hike in Point Reyes National Seashore near the San Francisco Bay area. This trail leads hikers through coastal scrub and grassland and features breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. This hike starts at the Laguna Trail with a slight climb, then drops to Coast Camp on the Fire Lane Trail. Take a left on the Coast Trail for beach access at Coast Camp or complete the loop by following Coast Trail northwest. Nearly 490 different species have been spotted in and along the national seashore. For perspective, that’s more than 50 percent of species of birds in North America. So, don't forget to bring your binoculars. There is only backcountry camping available in Point Reyes, but there are plenty of other car friendly campground in the surrounding area.
