The Buckeye Trail from Egbert Picnic Area to Alexander Road section is a moderate hike in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This hike is a great way to knock off a section of Ohio's famous 1,444 mile thru hike. Along the way hikers should keep an eye peeled songbirds and other wildlife. There is camping available nearby. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is very pet friendly, which is not the case for many national parks. Dogs are permitted on trails in Cuyahoga Valley, but they must be kept on leash. The Audubon Society considers Cuyahoga Valley National Park an IBA or Important Bird Area. The park offers incredible bird watching opportunities and is home to more than 200 different bird species. For those looking to stay a while, there is camping available inside and around the park.
