Chestnut Ridge Trail is an easy hike in Big Ridge State Park near Knoxville, Tennessee. This easy trail is great for those hiking with young kids. This trail is dog friendly, so long as your furry kids are on leash. The park says it is "the heavily forested, 3,687-acre park is located in the Appalachian Ridge and Valley range, characterized by narrow ridges flanked by fertile stream valleys. Big Ridge State Park’s topography is dominated by three of these ridge systems giving the area it's beautiful lake and scenery." There is camping available in Big Ridge State Park.
