The trail to Bierstadt Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is a truly amazing hiking experience. The hike will remind you of why you fell in love with the outdoors in the first place. This trail has it all, wildflowers, wildlife, thick evergreen forest dominated by towering lodgepole pines, tremendous mountain scenery and much more. Along the way hikers will pass by Bear Lake before entering the forest. Once you reach Bierstadt Lake you will be rewarded with staggering mountain scenery. Directly above the lake soars the mountains along the Continental Divide, including Longs Peak, Powell Peak, Taylor Peak and many more! For those wanting a shorter hike leave from the Bierstadt Lake Trailhead. It is slightly steeper but more than a mile shorter. There is plenty of camping available in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Bierstadt Lake is named after famous western landscape artist Albert Bierstadt.
