Beaver Pond Trail is an easy family friendly day hike in the Little River Canyon National Preserve near Huntsville. This trail is a favorite for bird watchers. The trailhead is located just past the Lynn Overlook. Along the way hikers will pass wild azaleas, beautiful pines and hardwoods and if you are hiking during the right time of year you can pick some blueberries for trail side snack. Keep an eye peeled for large catfish near the beaver dam and white-tailed deer and woodpeckers along the way. This trail is dog friendly, so long as your furry friend is on leash and there is camping available nearby.
