Baker & North Country Scenic Trail: Cook Forest State Park Section is a moderate hike in Cook Forest State Park near Erie, Pennsylvania. This trail is kid friendly and dog friendly, but your furry kids have to be on leash. At 9.4 miles long, it may be a much for those hiking with young children. The park says the "140-mile Baker Trail starts at Freeport, Pennsylvania, and ends in the Allegheny National Forest. It is maintained by American Youth Hostels. The trails cross the park, following park trails through the Forest Cathedral, and by Seneca Point, the Fire Tower, the Clarion River, bracket dams, the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Center and Toms Run. There is camping available in Cook Forest State Park.
