Avalanche Lake Trail is moderate hike in Glacier National Park. This hike is kid friendly. If you desire solitude you may want to look elsewhere. It can be a bit on the crowded side, especially during peak season, but regardless of that what it lacks in solitude it makes up in sheer beauty. The trail start by following the Trail of the Cedars then climbs gently until you reach Avalanche Lake and the soaring peaks behind it with their tumbling waterfalls. This trail is appropriate for most children, but may be a bit much for very young kids. If you only have time to do one hike in Glacier, we definitely recommend you consider Avalanche Lake! Pictures don't do it's beauty justice. There is plenty of camping available in Glacier National Park.
