Abbotts Lagoon Trail is an easy hike in Point Reyes National Seashore near the San Francisco Bay area. This beautiful hike features wonderful wildflowers and excellent bird watching. In fact, nearly 490 different species have been spotted in and along the national seashore. For perspective, that’s more than 50 percent of species of birds in North America. So, don't forget to bring your binoculars. There is only backcountry camping available in Point Reyes, but there are plenty of other car friendly campground in the surrounding area. The Abbotts Lagoon Trailhead is located about a 25 minutes drive from the Bear Valley Visitor Center.
