Yellowstone National Park visitation falls in October

The number of October visitors to Yellowstone National Park was down more than 12 percent from the same period in 2016.

Nearly 212,000 visited Yellowstone in October of 2017, making that the third busiest October on record. The busiest October was in 2015 and saw 252,013 visits.

So far in 2017 4,084,763 people have visited in the park. That is down 3 percent from 2016, which was the highest on record.

In 2016, the park saw a record 4.26 million visits. This is the third straight year more than 4 million people have visited Yellowstone.
